Research progress on HIV-associated sensory neuropathy

Abstract: Sensory neuropathyis a common complication in people living with human immunodeficiency virus. Currently, a great number of patients cannot get effective treatment due to the clinicians have insufficient understanding of the clinical manifestation and mechanism of HIV-associated sensory neuropathy (HIV-SN)and lack of treatment methods. This paper reviews the progress of the risk factors, mechanisms and treatment of HIV-SNin order to improve the diagnosis and treatment of HIV-SN.
