Abstract: The global tuberculosis(TB) report 2021 provides a comprehensive overview of the global situation of TB, the impact of Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) pandemic on TB control, the progress in achieving TB milestones, diagnosis and treatment. The report shows that worldwide, an estimated 9.9 million people fell ill with TB in 2020, equivalent to 127 cases per 100 000 population, but only 5.8 million cases were notified in 2020. That were 4.1 million cases off estimate. Best estimates for 2020 are 1.3 million TB deaths among HIV-negative people and an additional 214 000 among HIV-positive people, with the number of deaths increasing and the incidence of the disease declining slowly. The 2021 Report suggests that our progress towards achieving TB milestones and targets had been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be have a more adverse effect in 2021 and later. It is an urgent need to take action, such as recover the accessibility of basic service of TB, increase the application and popularization of the technology of digital health, increase investment in capital and research for TB services, and try our best to reduced reverse the adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on TB. We strive to realize the beautiful vision of “a world free of TB” as soon as possible!
