Human immunodeficiency virus-associated cryptococcal immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome

Abstract: Cryptococcal immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome(C-IRIS) in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)- infected patients manifests as a clinical worsening or new presentation of cryptococcal disease after initiating anti-retroviral therapy (ART). This review will discuss the clinical features, immunopathogenesis and management of this syndrome.
